Her Racing Journey started from something simple — just scrolling through motorsport content on Instagram. Having followed a wide range of teams, drivers and creators, one thing became clear: there was a noticeable lack of consistent promotion for women in motorsport.

Rather than ignoring it, the decision was made to do something about it. Spotting a clear gap in what was being done, HRJ was created with the aim of changing that. At the time, there were no big expectations — just a simple mindset of “let’s give it a go and see what happens.”

In the early stages, the focus was on building something from the ground up. This meant reaching out to female drivers across the sport, following accounts and attempting to recruit what was then known as a “brand ambassador.” It wasn’t easy — there were plenty of declines, a lot of uncertainty, and many “maybes” along the way. But instead of stopping, it only reinforced the belief that the idea had value, just not with the right people yet.

That persistence paid off. On 5th October, Her Racing Journey welcomed its first ever ambassador, marking a key moment in the platform’s early development. Around the same time, an initial website was launched, although due to limited content in the early stages, it was later taken down as the focus shifted back to building the platform itself.

Momentum began to build heading into the new year. While reaching 100 followers was a milestone, hitting 200 on New Year’s Day felt even more significant — it was the moment things started to feel real. It was during this time that one of HRJ’s most recognisable lines was created: “I thought this would fail. It didn’t.” What started with uncertainty was now showing real signs of growth.

As the platform continued to develop, a clear shift began to happen. Instead of reaching out to drivers, people were now coming to Her Racing Journey — asking to be involved and become ambassadors. That change marked a major turning point, showing that the platform was beginning to gain real recognition.

Alongside this, the ambassador system was re-developed, introducing a more structured approach. This included the creation of the Senior Leadership Team, made up of a Lead Ambassador, Vice Lead Ambassador and Senior Ambassadors, forming the core group helping to shape HRJ’s direction. For the first time, it felt like more than just a page — it felt like something people genuinely wanted to be part of.

Momentum continued to build from there. Reaching 300 followers, closing in on 100 total posts, and surpassing 50,000 monthly views in March showed just how far the platform had come. What started as an idea with uncertainty had now developed into something consistent, growing, and recognised.

Looking ahead, Her Racing Journey is no longer just a project — it’s something much more personal. It has become a home, and one that will continue to grow moving forward. The focus now is on supporting more drivers, creating opportunities, and building a stronger presence within motorsport.

The ambition is to sponsor more female drivers, support teams within British racing series, and ultimately work towards running a professional motorsport team of our own. British motorsport remains at the heart of this vision — it’s where HRJ has developed, and somewhere that will always be seen as a second home.
